It is noteworthy that the mode of learning is quite different with other language learning websites, Duolingo tends to provide a game-like learning environment. They will be motivated in Duolingo in order to excel their friends to some extent.

1️⃣ Various tasks can be used to attribute to learners' motivation. People would like to learn languages by the effective repeat. The design of the learning in different stages comforts to the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve, which is a main reason why learners can remember the conversation quickly in Duolingo.
(💁🏻I found I could remember more words compared to the authentic class)
2️⃣ Learners who have a phone or a computer can begin their learning without any textbooks. It is a great help for people who don't have enough materials or time, like commuters.
3️⃣ Stage tests, as criteria to evaluate your level, can provide you the recommended stage. You may start your study from your current level instead of from the beginning of a language.

2️⃣ The images in Duolingo are very interesting but they may be a factor to distract your attention.
3️⃣ It is unlikely to learn a language comprehensively in Duolingo. Inputting and outputting are imbalanced in this platform, which means you rarely have an opportunity to speak this language to a real person. Although this problem has been reduced by the discussion board in this website, learners cannot receive a feedback of their learning compared to the authentic language class.
