Today, I will talk about the way to interact with your materials when you teach students. 👩‍🏫

As a teacher,  you should have teaching methods to motivate your students based on the teaching contents.Sometimes teaching materials are too monotonous to attract students' attention, which means it is hard to build the connection between students and learning materials. At that time, blended learning is an effective solution for teachers. 

Blended learning is a method to integrate various materials in order to help students to interact online with the traditional class. Computer-assisted learning is used in the authentic class. In the traditional class, teachers are supposed to control the whole learning process. However, blended learning provides some rights to students who can control time, place or even path.

As a tool to achieve blended learning, H5P, an abbreviation of HTML 5 Package, can be regarded as a framework where people can create and use interactive contents.

An interactive video and presentation slides can be made by H5P because you can combine different functions.

Judy's ideas about H5P

After knowing the relevant information and contents of H5P, I prefer to share some merits and limitations in my mind.

🔺Merits

1️⃣  H5P is easy to operate and it has various functions. Teachers can add different activities easily, such as quiz, video or image. 

2️⃣  This tool can provide teachers more combination for different tasks so the language class will be more attractive. The aims of the language class are achieved effectively.

3️⃣ Students are able to choose their own ideas or thoughts through blended learning instead of just following their teachers.

4️⃣ The budget of teaching will be decreased because the traditional class depends on the textbooks or paper materials which are expensive. Compared with the traditional class, blended learning classroom need computers which can be used repeatedly for a long time.

🔺Limitations

1️⃣  Teachers need spend more time in learning the complex functions of H5P before they decide to use these various functions.

2️⃣  Teachers should keep the balance between the technique and teaching, which should be concerned by most language teachers or scholars. Sometimes, some teachers add interesting technical contents in order to attract students but they ignore the aim of classes. 

Anyway, H5P is a good website to help you build the blended learning !😎
